A few comments from Karsten's nomination:

Karsten's passion for RT and Mechanical Ventilation is admirable. He organized bringing SEVA Mechanical Ventilation course (Cleveland Clinic) to the Northeast working with Dr. Mirales and Chatburn, and functioned as an organizer and facilitator for the first SEVA training in Philadelphia attended by RTs, Pulmonologists and Pulmonary Fellows.

Karsten has published multiple articles within the last few years, with a few being lead author.  Presented locally, regionally and nationally dozens of times over the last 2 years.  Karsten has presented Respiratory Care to middle and high school students for recruitment into the profession.

Karsten has worked with the AARC on Clinical Practice Guidelines, such as Spontaneous Breathing Trials, Education Advancement, Current Co-Chair of Membership Innovation Committee.
