Meet Your East District Director - Melissa Ash

My name is Melissa Ash, and I serve as the Eastern District Director for the Pennsylvania Society for Respiratory Care (PSRC). I earned my Bachelor’s degree from West Chester University in 2004. Following graduation, I began my career at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, working in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and Intensive Care Nursery (ICN).

In 2021, I transitioned into academia, joining Gwynedd Mercy University as a part-time instructor. In 2023, I was appointed as an adjunct professor at Jefferson University, and in 2025, I assumed the role of Program Director for St. Luke’s new program.

Beyond my professional roles, I am actively involved in the respiratory care community. I serve on the Sputum Bowl Committee for the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and am the Chair-Elect for this year. Additionally, I have had the privilege of presenting at numerous conferences across Pennsylvania and at the national level. I hold all specialty credentials in Respiratory Care, reflecting my commitment to excellence and expertise in the field.

Thanks!

Melissa
