A Brief Overview :

Provides administrative support such as conducting formal education and acts as a resource for clinical issues when needed. Performs prescribed diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and functions as a resource person to achieve therapeutic goals in the care of patient's cardiopulmonary dysfunctions. Consults with physicians and other health team members to determine treatment procedures and time schedules. Qualifications Education:

• Other Successful completion of education requirements for qualification as a Respiratory Therapist as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) (Required)

  • Invasive and Emergency Procedures - Respiratory Care

  • Life Support Procedures - Respiratory Care

    • Documents all therapies delivered in the patient's medical record and in the department MIS.

  • Respiratory Therapy Procedures

    • Provides efficient, cost effective, timely, safe, high quality and customer focused patient care for Respiratory Patients.

    • ​​Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures.

    • Removes and administers medications as prescribed.

    • Ensures work area is stocked and appropriate equipment is available.

    • Provides respiratory critical care procedures for patients as required.

    • Establishes and manages basic and the more complex forms of mechanical ventilation (e.g., HFO, NPPV, PRVC, transport) with high proficiency and minimal supervision.

    • Develops or refines the ventilator care plan on a daily basis and communicates to appropriate
      members of the patient care team.

  • Medical Gas/Equipment Maintenance

    • Selects appropriate age specific equipment to deliver care. Conducts and documents quality control tests.

    • Troubleshoots equipment, takes corrective action and documents appropriately. Requests and
      documents repair service.

    • Performs or arranges for and documents preventative maintenance.

    • Cleans and disinfects equipment.

    • Demonstrates competency and safety measures with all equipment.

    • Checks that emergency oxygen cylinders in designated areas are adequately full and replaced as needed.

    • Maintains adequate par levels in storage areas as required to ensure equipment availability.

staff in the Pulmonary Function Laboratories which provides testing at the

main building, King of Prussia, Voorhees and all outpatient pulmonary

physician practices, to achieve excellent patient and family experience and

A Brief Overview

This supervisor position is Mon-Fri- 8-4:30- this could vary.

Required is 3 years PFT, 2 years experience in care of neonatal/pediatrics, and 2 years supervision/leadership experience.

The Supervisor of the Pulmonary Function Lab provides leadership and directs day-to-day activities while providing supervision of clinical staff of the lab. The supervisor organizes and allocates work schedules to team members, monitors quality initiatives and performs testing as well as data analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting lab equipment. This role provides education/training and sets up in services for technical staff. The Supervisor will work with the Manager to aid in responsibilities for personnel aspects of the Pulmonary Function Lab including job descriptions, interviews, completion of employee evaluations, disciplinary action, organizing work schedules, record keeping, and other duties when necessary. This role is responsible for and deploys lab strategies designed to meet defined unit and CHOP clinical, financial and quality initiatives and associated performance and outcome targets.

  • Executes and monitors systems to assure consistent and appropriate resource assignment and utilization.

  • Partners with Pulmonary Function Lab Manager to identify and execute annual unit-based quality improvement initiatives that result in a measurable impact on quality, cost and resource utilization.
