A few words from Curtis' nomination:

As a new Director of Clinical Education, I have experienced firsthand the depth of Dr. Aumiller’s commitment to developing future leaders in respiratory care. His mentorship has been steady, generous, and genuinely transformative. From the earliest days of stepping into my role, he has been a consistent source of guidance—offering clarity when processes felt overwhelming, sharing strategies grounded in years of academic and clinical leadership, and modeling the level of professionalism and integrity that defines exceptional educators in our field.

Dr. Aumiller’s approach to mentorship goes far beyond answering questions or providing direction. He takes the time to explain the “why” behind decisions, encourages critical thinking, and challenges me to grow into the role with confidence and independence. His willingness to share his expertise—whether related to accreditation standards, curriculum development, clinical partnerships, or the broader strategic direction of respiratory care education—has strengthened my ability to serve students, support clinical affiliates, and uphold the standards of our program.

His mentorship has not only accelerated my development as a DCE but has also reinforced the values that shape strong respiratory care leaders: accountability, compassion, evidence‑based practice, and a commitment to elevating the profession. Dr. Aumiller’s influence has had a direct and lasting impact on my professional growth, and his example continues to guide the way I approach my responsibilities and support the next generation of respiratory therapists.
