PROGRAM INFORMATION:

The Respiratory Therapy Program has been preparing Entry-Level Respiratory Therapists with an Associate in Applied Science degree since 1972
-
It is a consortium program with Delaware County Community College and Crozer-Chester Medical Center
-
The Program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)

Graduates of the Program will be eligible to sit

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Looking for a dynamic person who is interested in the future of the field of Respiratory Therapy. This candidate must provide effective leadership in developing, conducting, and ongoing assessment of the clinical education for the Respiratory Therapy Program.
This person must have excellent communication skills with all levels of people in and out of the health care setting. The candidate will be communicating directly with students in the Program, Respiratory Therapists who are Clinical Instructors at various clinical sites, Department Managers at the various clinical sites as well as other faculty members at Delaware County Community College. In addition to communication skills, the candidate must also have assessment skills that accurately reflect the students’ progress in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
The instruction included with this position includes teaching in the classroom environment, the laboratory setting, and in the clinical area in the hospital.
The candidate will be required to create and coordinate students’ clinical schedules to ensure that the students are exposed to all areas where Respiratory Therapists work. The candidate will also assess students in the clinical areas to ensure they are adequately performing in the clinical areas. The DCE position also requires excellent communication and assessment of the Clinical Instructors at the various clinical sites.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate of the Associate degree program must have earned at least a baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

The candidate must hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential
-
The candidate must hold a current PA state license to practice Respiratory Therapy
-
The candidate must have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical Respiratory Care
-
The candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care Program or as a Clinical Instructor/Preceptor for students of such programs
