Director of Cardiopulmonary

Cape Regional Health System located in Cape May Court House, NJ has a full time position available for a "Director of Cardiopulmonary".

This position is responsible for:

 

  • Establishing goals and objectives for the Cardiac & Respiratory Services Department consistent with the Medical Center's strategic plan with input from department staff ,Chief of Cardiology, Chief of Pulmonary Medicine and Neurologists. 
     

  • Develops department standards of practice that are consistent with national professional organization standards and ensures that standards are incorporated into patient care processes and practice. 
     

  • Responsible for hiring qualified staff, evaluating job performance and providing feedback to recognize and/or improve performance. 
     

  • Develops and manages staffing schedules that provide adequate staffing consistent with patient needs and patient census/volume/acuity. 
     

  • Manages resources including staffing, supplies and equipment according to budget. 
     

  • Develops operating and capital budgets in collaboration with Chief of Cardiology and Chief of Pulmonary and VP of Patient Care Services and Finance Department. 
     

  • Incorporates performance improvement processes to improve patient satisfaction, patient care outcomes and operational efficiencies. 
     

  • Collaborates in the development, implementation and expansion of learning opportunities and skill development for staff.  Promotes education for patients and patient families.
     

  • Assesses equipment and the environment and makes recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety and ongoing compliance with various regulatory bodies ( NJ Department of Health , CMS, TJC, OSHA, etc.) 
     

  • Uses effective communication and management style to promote teamwork, collaboration, staff engagement,  staff satisfaction and patient safety. 
     

  • Develops, implements and monitors written policies and procedures reflective of the mission of the medical center and regulatory/accrediting bodies. 
     

  • Serves as leader or member of various medical center committees/teams. 



Job Requirements

 

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program and currently licensed by the NJ State Division of Consumer Affairs. 
     

  • Two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience required. 
     

  • Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least five (5) years of general clinical experience and two years’ experience assisting in Bronchoscopy.
     

  • Must be CPR certified.
