EducationContinuing Education Programs - The PSRC offers the most
educational programs for Respiratory Therapists in the state and our
members ALWAYS receive a discount on registration for these events....and we've even been known to offer a few FREE educational events along the way!In addition to our two large Eastern and Western Regional Conferences, we offer annual educational events in Erie and Harrisburg. In addition, we offer multiple other regional events throughout the state. Finally, while we do not offer continuing education via the internet, we have teamed up with Respiratory Care Educational Consulting Services a leading provider of continuing education on the web. PSRC members receive a 20% discount on all programs taken at the RCECS website when they enter their membership number!
State Advocacy and AwarenessGovernment Representation -- The PSRC employs the
highly respected Winter Group, a Governmental Affairs and
Management consulting firm who work for you and your
patients in Harrisburg. In addition, the firm helps the PSRC
leadership plan strategies for introducing legislation and
influencing regulatory activities on reimbursement issues, research projects, consumer protection, smoking laws -- anything affecting the provision of quality respiratory care.
Public Relations -- The PSRC represents you to the media, other organizations, the general public, and the health care industry. The PSRC frequently communicates with the PA State Board of Medicine, the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine, the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania, and many more professional associations around the state. In addition, the PSRC's "Go Green" project and our attendance at the National Guideance Counselor Assocationa meetings have marketed our profession in high schools around the state.
FUN!!!
PSRC Special Events -- In 2006, the PSRC began putting the FUN back into our association by holding some special events like the PSRC Day @ Camel Beach Waterpark and a PSRC Night at the Philadelphia Phillies game. These "members only" events allowed our members to bring their families and friends for a day/night of fun...at a discounted rate! In 2007, we offered even more fun with multiple events including PSRC Nights at the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies and Lancaster Barnstormers baseball games; a PSRC Night at the Flyers hockey game; a PSRC Day at the musical "Wicked" and more!
Discounts -- In 2007, the PSRC began to use our group buying power to purchase tickets and other items at a discount. Our members had the opportunity to purchase tickets to Hersheypark for an unbelievably LOW price....and we sold well over 100 tickets!
