AARC Membership
Types & Special Programs AARC Membership Types There are three main classifications of members in the AARC. These include: Active Member An individual is eligible for "active" membership if he/she lives in the U.S. or its territories and meets any ONE of the following criteria: 1. Holds a credential issued by the NBRC (includes CRT, RRT, CPFT, RPFT, NPS) 2. Is legally credentialed as a respiratory care professional in the state. 3. Is a graduate of an accredited educational program in respiratory care. Voting privileges, full membership benefits, and the ability to hold office are extended to all Active Members. Associate Member An individual is eligible for "active" membership if he/she is working in a field related to the practice of respiratory care in the United States who do not meet any of the criteria for Active membership status (see above). This includes those individuals working in medical equipment sales, physicians, other allied health practitioners and individuals residing in foreign countries. Associate members cannot vote or hold office, but have the full package of membership benefits. Student Member Any respiratory care student enrolled in an AARC recognized or accredited educational program is eligible for Student Membership. Since it does not yet apply, Student Members are not enrolled in the CRCE program. AARC Membership Levels There are three levels of AARC membership including: A) Standard Level: These members receive all the benefits of membership including both the AARC Times magazine and Respiratory Care Journal. Annual dues for this level are $90.00 NOTE: The PSRC's discount membership program provides this type of membership for $75.00 B) Choice Level: These members receive all the benefits of membership and a choice of receiving either the AARC Times magazine or the Respiratory Care Journal. Annual dues for this level are $78.50. C) Plus Level: These members receive all the benefits of membership, including both the AARC Times magazine and Respiratory Care Journal. In addition, these members receive membership in one Specialty Section at no additional charge. Additional benefits for Plus members include Early Bird convention registration and housing, advance notification and savings on other products, a free RC-Week T-shirt, a quarterly presidential update letter, and an invitation to the President's Reception at the AARC convention. Annual dues for this level are $125.00 (Note: A PSRC discount membership coupon may be used along with a check for $35 to purchase this type of membership ($15 savings).
