PSRC: Who We Are The Pennsylvania Society for Respiratory Care (PSRC), originally known as the Pennsylvania Society for Respiratory Therapy, was created in 1980 as the result of a merger of three PA affiliated chapters of the American Association for Respiratory Therapy. In 1986, the AART became the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC). The PSRC serves as the state affiliate of the AARC. These districts include the Capital District, Northeast District, Northwest District, South Central District, Southeast District, and the Southwest District. ![]() 2010 PSRC Districts The district representation of the PSRC is determined by the first three digits of the zip code in which the member lives as follows: Southwest District: 150, 151, 152, 153, 154, 156 South Central District: 155, 157, 158, 159, 166, 168 Northwest District: 160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 167 Capital District: 170, 171, 172, 173, 174, 175, 176 Northeast District: 169, 177, 178, 179, 182, 183, 184, 185, 186, 187, 188 Southeast District: 180, 181, 189, 190, 191, 193, 194, 195, 196 Leadership of the PSRC The PSRC is governed by a Board of Directors (BOD), which consists of the elected officers of the PSRC including the President, Immediate Past President, President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Senior Delegate, Junior Delegate, and one District Director for each of the respective districts. They are assisted by appointed committee chairpersons, a Medical Advisor and the general membership of the PSRC.
